Lily: What would you tell a new leader who’s discouraged about their working climate or culture?
Michael: Stay at home, sit on the couch and don’t… You’d be a lot safer that way. No, I love the quote we mentioned earlier. John Eldredge, “Life is not a problem to be solved, it’s an adventure to be lived.” I really believe that if you’re called to leadership, and many of us we say we find it by accident because very few of us really set out to lead, we turn around one day and we are, and that’s fine. I think that the important thing is that we prepare ourselves properly. That we put foundational things in place, just like we’re helping leaders every day to do, to make fundamental decisions that simplify thousands of other decisions for them. For us it’s the Five Phases of SIMPLE Leadership. The first three phases, we walk people through three simple tools that will solve 85-90% of the challenges that we face on a daily, weekly, monthly basis.[/text_block]
