Lily: How would you describe your leadership style?

Michael: Let me answer it this way, we’re helping leaders to make fundamental decisions to live principle-based lives. In fact, our model, The Five Phases of Simple Leadership, is all about helping people simplify their life, their work, their leadership, so that they have more margin.

Everybody is too busy. Every single one of us would say, “We’re too busy.” If we have more margin, then we can make better connections, we can have better relationships. All of us would say, “We don’t have deep relationships anymore.” In some case, we don’t even know what they look like. People, if they have more margin, they can be more fulfilled in their work. They can be more productive without being overloaded. For me, this is the path that I’ve walked, and it’s the path that we’re guiding hundreds of leaders down today, every week, every month.

For me, my leadership style would be, we want people to make a few fundamental decisions that simplify thousands of other decisions for them. So, they have more margin, they’re making better connections, they’re more fulfilled in their work, they’re more productive without being overloaded. It’s a principle and purpose-based leadership.[/text_block]
